Former Sun Devil All-American swimmer Brunelli advances to 100 free final

Nick Brunelli, a former All-American swimmer at Arizona State University, has qualified for the final of the 100 meter freestyle at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Swimming on Wednesday at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb. Swimming for Sun Devil Aquatics, Brunelli clocked in the second-fastest time in the semi-finals to advance one step closer to achieving his Olympic dream. Brunelli, who was seeded sixth prior to the Trials, touched the wall at 48.29 to advance onto the finals. His time was a personal best.

Brunelli was a 16-time All-American on the Sun Devil swimming and diving team from 2001-2004. He was the Pac-10 Champion in the 200 free his senior season. Brunelli will compete in the 100 free final today at 6:45 CT.
